Kids Kayak Program
$175 (+ tax) per student
|
This is a great way for kids to learn to
kayak. The weeklong program is 3 hours per day and gives
kids a solid foundation in kayak paddling. The kids begin
with entries, wet exits and basic strokes. They progress
to leans, bracing and mastering a slalom course. Efficiency
of stroke and rescues are then covered. They continue
to use all of these skills in moving water, which can
be applied to whitewater or touring. All of these skills
are reinforced along the way with fun and games.

Eskimo Rolling for Kids

Are you ready to rock & roll! If you
are dreaming about playing in the waves and holes of the
Farmington River, you need to learn a bomb-proof roll. Spend
2 hours with our ACA-certified instructors learning the
basics of Eskimo rolling – proper set up, paddle position
and movement and the all-important hip snap. The class is
small so that our ACA-certified instructors can give individualized
instruction to each person. You will also practice wet exits
with a spray skirt and swift water safety techniques. This
skill usually takes two or more lessons to master. Nose
plugs are required.
