TRIP TYPES

Beginner Sea Kayak

Recreational
These tours require no previous experience in canoes or kayaks. Recreational boats will be used on calm inland waterways.
Minimum equipment needed: recreational canoe or kayak, paddle(s) and USCG approved PFD(s).

Beginner Sea Kayak
Some experience in a light touring kayak or sea kayak. Ability to confidently wet exit with a skirt in place is required. Should be able to control a sea kayak in calm coastal conditions (seas to 1', wind to 10kt, minimal current, within 1/2 nm from shore). Knowledge of paddle-float reentry and assisted rescue preferred. Advanced recreational paddlers could be allowed in if they have taken our Safety & Rescue course.
Minimum equipment needed (this equipment can be rented at an additional charge): touring kayak (14 - 18' with 2 bulkheads and perimeter lines), bilge pump, paddle float, paddle, USCG approved PFD and spray skirt.
